Save Money and Time With This Simple Treadmill Buying Guide – Part 2

If a fitness superstore is not for you, specialized shops, many of which may deal in a specific sport, may be the option for you. At this type of store, you are going to find more knowledgeable sales people that have had more extensive training in the operation of their equipment.
The benefit is you will be speaking with an individual that is very knowledgeable about what they are selling you. They should be able to answer all of your questions and practically train you on the use of your machine. The negative is the sales pitch will be harder and you may feel pressured. You may be dealing with an employee or shop owner that has a personal stake in the sale of your machine. If you have made the decision to buy, this will not be a problem if they have the piece of equipment you are looking for.
Once you have made your choice and purchased the treadmill, it is time to bring it home. Like any large item that is new to your home, you will want to find the perfect spot for it. Be sure to prepare the space prior to bringing the machine home. You will want to consider how much space is needed for the assembly of the treadmill. Make sure you have plenty of room for your workouts. Finally, be sure it is in a safe area where children and pets will not be an issue.
You will want to make sure you are knowledgeable in the care and cleaning for the treadmill you have purchased. If you buy new, there will be an instruction manual included with the assembly directions. If you have purchased used, the owner may still have the booklet. If not, there may be instructions online for your specific machine. Caring for the equipment is important so it is usable for many years to come.
The last thing to consider when buying a treadmill is to make sure you will stick with your workout regimen and not get discouraged. There is no worse feeling than being faced every day with a piece of exercise equipment that you blew off and abandoned in the first few months. If you lose interest in a short amount of time you will resent the purchase you made, feeling as if you have failed. Using a treadmill buying guide will help you purchase with confidence, and you will be inspired to work out and get into shape.

We think the Virtuoso is a good pairing with the Silvia — it’s the lowest end model that we’d recommend, but it does do the fineness and consistency that you’d need. Big difference is that you can’t grind as much as you can with larger grinders and the burrs can get a little toasty, singing the coffee. If it’s already grinding fine enough for Turkish, you should be able to take it up a couple notches for espresso grind. Feel free to message me with more questions, glad you like the vids! – Kat

I currently have a Baratza Virtuoso grinder calibrated for ‘Turkish Grind’ directly from the factory. I am planning on purchasing a Rancilio Silvia and am concerned with some of the negative reviews stating it won’t do a good job with espresso. I would love to hear your oppinion on using the Virtuoso (company calibrated) with the Rancilio Silvia (dialing it in, shot timing, etc…). Thanks in advance.
PS: Love the videos you ladies really do an awesome job!!!

Carpet Buying Secrets by Laura Adams (also known as Insider Secrets to Buying Floor Covering) — It's the best carpet buying guide I know and also the most current on tips and trends.
I work as an Interior Designer, so buying carpets 'smartly' is part of my job. The reason I like this guide is because – (1) It addresses safe buying practices for both professionals and home owners, and (2) It tells you some little-known secrets about buying carpets that the store salesman might just forget to tell.. or may not want you to know about.

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov – these are two FREE sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.
Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants — all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.
Note though that these grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments. Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT – Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program. Individuals especially for personal purposes are not eligible for federal grants.
Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs
The government is NOT in the business of giving away free money for the sake of giving away money. Grants are free, but it means OBLIGATION. You will be obligated to do as the grant sets out to do. Grants have objectives, and your purpose must fit the objective of the grant.
For one, you have to write the grant application and the grant application is not a simple document – you have to explain how your purpose for applying for the grant fits well with the objectives set out by the grant. Grants have objectives, and the grant applications that best captures the grant's objectives are approved.
There is a stringent review process through a committee composed of federal employees and selected experts in the field. You will compete with other applicants for the grant money, and this grant review committee will evaluate the merits of each proposal. Only those that they feel exemplifies the objective of the grant will be approved.

I just got it and I love it. The graphics and sound effects are amazing. It's hard though, you have to get the hang of flying because there are wind drafts that will either raise your dragon higher or lower in the air. Also, the battles are tough, and there's some places where you can get stuck, because it's hard to figure out what to do next. The first boss is vicious. However, the game still rocks, it just takes a little patience. I would say definatley get it, but if you haven't played the other 2 in this series, you may not understand the storyline.

There's a book called “How To Buy A Single-Engine Airplane” by a guy named Scott "Sky" Smith. I know him, he's a good guy, and he give a good account of what to do when pruchasing your airplane. I highly reccommend that book. Also, talk to an aircraft broker or dealer. They can be a valuable source of information about any aircraft model you are looking for. The more homework you do, the better prepared that you are, so I suggest you read everything that you can.
Also, for the guy who tells you that the Cessna 150 is a death trap, tell him he's an idiot. The Cessna 150 has one of the best safety records for it's class, and the model has millions of hours on it. Sure, there are accidents, but none are really associated with the design of the aircraft. Many are due to it's age (so get it checked thoroughly by a mechanic) and many are due to pilot error (so get yourself checked thoroughly by a CFI). They are no more dangerous than any other aircraft in that class.

No, I have it. The CR buying guide isn't limited to used cars, but it does have an extensive section on them. It came at the end of January.
You should be able to get it through your local library.
