Having had a totally hip replacement there are precautions that need to avoid strict about the dislocation of the hip to. Prior to surgery, the doctor discussed with you, but for the most part, they are not discussed until it has passed through a pre-operative joint replacement class or begin physical therapy.

There are three basic rules that are followed in the rehabilitation of total hip replacement.

1. Do not your legs.

2. Take the past, even 90 degrees

3. Not in the foot in beating switches or internal rotation of the hip.

There may be many others that are quoted during the rehabilitation, but these are the three most important precautions that are always discussed. These precautions are usually followed for the first six weeks after surgery, but you want it with the orthopedic surgeons who may be followed by further discuss these precautions.

Following the above, you can be sure that you will reduce the possibility of a dislocation. When you sit, make sure that you are on a chair that does not rock or move in any way. Make sure the seat height does not allow you to fall low enough that your knees are resting or in other words, are higher than the sides. If you use the knee as the hip break the plane of 90 degrees.

Do not cross the legs when sitting. this is something easy to do. Well, in my opinion, the leg that you want to avoid crossing the legs and hips, which have been made. Nurse or doctor tells you to avoid crossing or leg because of the possibility of affecting the blood circulation in the legs, but that’s a good rule to follow. If your legs and hips that were operated on the cross, the situation is possible. Strong through the leg on the operated leg, will not lead to dislocation.

Do not turn your operated leg inward, where the foot is turned inward as well. Turn your foot in this movement is generated at the hip, making the possibility of a dislocation.
This is easily done if you are on foot, for example, and when she turns around while you’re a walker or cane, she hangs it on the affected leg instead. If you leg is in turn affects the ability to turn inward, making the hips where the femoral head to move out of the socket.

Now, for the most part I’ve found it takes two of the three precautions that must be broken comes at a time prior to resettlement, but this is not a strict rule quickly. This depends on the integrity of the surrounding soft tissues around the hip and used the type of hip prosthesis.

The first six weeks of rehabilitation will be crucial to strengthen the surrounding muscles, tendons and ligaments, so that they do their work in the promotion of the hip joint and locking of the prosthesis.

There are about 250,000 hip replacements a year or more done in the United States, the rate of dislocation is somewhere between 1-3%. The shift is something not to fear this, but the respect in the process of reconstruction.

Check with the doctor for the exact time to follow the precautions now that time and the end of the hip is sufficiently healed, you will live again to life that you expect and deserve the pain free at last.
