Aquamarine – Gemology and Buying Guide

(c)Copyright 2009, CaratExchange.com
Gemology and Color: Aquamarine comes in blue and green blue color and is colored by trace amounts of iron that find their way into the crystal structure. A saturated blue is the most desired color. The more intense the color of an aquamarine, the more value is put on it.
Sources: The leading producer of aquamarine is Brazil, with many mines spread throughout the country. Other deposits found in Australia, Myanmar (Burma), China, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Zambia, Zimbabwe, as well as in several U.S. locations.
Treatments and Care: Most aquamarines come out of the ground with a greenish tint, and they are commonly heat treated to produce the popular blue-green colors from less desirable yellow or pale stones. Keep aquamarines out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures because the sun and heat can fade their color. Clean with mild dish soap: use a toothbrush to scrub behind the stone where dust can collect.
Buying Guide: Clarity and color are the main determinants of value for the
aquamarine. Because the stone is usually pale, clarity is a major concern. A
high quality aquamarine will have no inclusions and be perfectly transparent. The highest valued aquamarines are pure, clear blue without a hint of green – at least in the U.S. European collectors tend to favor the ‘seafoam’ colors, which shade more toward aqua and sea green. Because they are so often ‘eye clean’ with no visible
inclusions, aquamarines are often cut in long, shallow cuts that allow the
color to gather and refract properly. It’s a cut that shows off the aquamarine’s transparency and watery quality.

I have no clue how to do this. I want a domain name to create a personal website that I may use adds on to generate money. Maybe not. I need something that explains this and shows reputable companys to work with that have the best prices. I know that after you buy the domain name you also need to find a host. I will also need help in doing that also. Thanks for any and all help.

Carpet Buying Secrets by Laura Adams (also known as Insider Secrets to Buying Floor Covering) — It's the best carpet buying guide I know and also the most current on tips and trends.
I work as an Interior Designer, so buying carpets 'smartly' is part of my job. The reason I like this guide is because – (1) It addresses safe buying practices for both professionals and home owners, and (2) It tells you some little-known secrets about buying carpets that the store salesman might just forget to tell.. or may not want you to know about.

I didn’t have a clue where to ask this question so I guess this might be as good as place as any. Well I was looking into Laptops and had narrowed my choice to the VGN-CR590(Indigo Blue) or the HP dv2800t Artist Edition series. I was just wondering if anyone knew if a Computer like that could run some of the {Games for Windows} games ex. Shadowrun/Halo 2 or if you would need a more High end “Gaming” Laptop Like a Dell XPS or Alienware or what not? Any help is greatly Appreciated ahead of time!

Well, gaming is actually important. I play alot of games and am looking foward to playing WoW which i cannot know because my computer is very old and out of date. Plus i do alot of game designing and macromedia projects. Thank you for your help. 5stars + subscribe

Hi Marc,
Alienware produces computers specifically designed for high performance gaming, so if gaming is important to you, then look in that direction. As to the second question, AMD or NVidia – AMD is known for their processors, which Intel would be their main competitor. AMD is typically more reasonably priced, however Intel is typically a better processor. Performance reviews tend to not be as drastic for gaming. NVidia makes graphics cards, which are very good. Hope this helps.

There's a book called “How To Buy A Single-Engine Airplane” by a guy named Scott "Sky" Smith. I know him, he's a good guy, and he give a good account of what to do when pruchasing your airplane. I highly reccommend that book. Also, talk to an aircraft broker or dealer. They can be a valuable source of information about any aircraft model you are looking for. The more homework you do, the better prepared that you are, so I suggest you read everything that you can.
Also, for the guy who tells you that the Cessna 150 is a death trap, tell him he's an idiot. The Cessna 150 has one of the best safety records for it's class, and the model has millions of hours on it. Sure, there are accidents, but none are really associated with the design of the aircraft. Many are due to it's age (so get it checked thoroughly by a mechanic) and many are due to pilot error (so get yourself checked thoroughly by a CFI). They are no more dangerous than any other aircraft in that class.

I just got it and I love it. The graphics and sound effects are amazing. It's hard though, you have to get the hang of flying because there are wind drafts that will either raise your dragon higher or lower in the air. Also, the battles are tough, and there's some places where you can get stuck, because it's hard to figure out what to do next. The first boss is vicious. However, the game still rocks, it just takes a little patience. I would say definatley get it, but if you haven't played the other 2 in this series, you may not understand the storyline.

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov – these are two FREE sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.
Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants — all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.
Note though that these grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments. Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT – Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program. Individuals especially for personal purposes are not eligible for federal grants.
Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs
The government is NOT in the business of giving away free money for the sake of giving away money. Grants are free, but it means OBLIGATION. You will be obligated to do as the grant sets out to do. Grants have objectives, and your purpose must fit the objective of the grant.
For one, you have to write the grant application and the grant application is not a simple document – you have to explain how your purpose for applying for the grant fits well with the objectives set out by the grant. Grants have objectives, and the grant applications that best captures the grant's objectives are approved.
There is a stringent review process through a committee composed of federal employees and selected experts in the field. You will compete with other applicants for the grant money, and this grant review committee will evaluate the merits of each proposal. Only those that they feel exemplifies the objective of the grant will be approved.
